Detailed survey & Design of Farm Road (LOT 2: 68km) covering 08 Dzongkhag under farm Road Rehabilitation Program funded by GOI.

Farm Road Rehabilitation program, [LOT 2] length 68km was taken up by DOA under GOI assisted SDG. The existing roads were steep, narrow, and geometrically not designed. Therefore, DOA, awarded the survey and design work to a consortium which was successfully managed by APECS consultancy.

Following were the major scope of the assignment:

  • Field survey and  consultation with local leaders and road users’ to arrive at the consensus for change in the  alignment.
  • Realignment wherever techno-economically feasible to improve gradient
  • Improvement of road geometry including U turns
  • Achieving the standard road width as per farm road guidelines and
  • Standardization of road structures/furniture
  • Detailed Survey and Design
  • Preparation of cost estimate and bidding documents

Geotechnical studies for the Reconstruction of Bridges at Chuzumsa, Nikachu and Zalam chu

Geotechnical studies for the Reconstruction of Bridges at Chuzumsa, Nikachu and Zalam chu for the Department of Roads was taken up by JICA. The construction has been successfully implemented through technical and financial support of JICA for the reconstruction of bridges along the lateral /National Highways in Bhutan. Part of the geotechnical investigation was sourced to APECS which was successfully completed.

Following were the major scope of the assignment:


• To carry out Plate Load test, Trial pitting and other related field and laboratory tests for geotechnical Investigation report. (As a part of the investigation the associate partner conducted drilling works).
• To compute Soil bearing capacity of the soil for settlement studies and Laboratory tests .
